Commander Pike graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2000, earning a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. Upon graduation, CDR Pike completed primary, intermediate and advanced flight training at NAS Pensacola, NAS Corpus Christi and NAS Whiting Field, respectively. He was winged in June of 2002, and then reported to HC-3 for initial fleet training in the MH-60S.

CDR Pike began his operational flying in December 2002 with HC-5/HSC-25, at Andersen AFB, Guam. While there, he deployed on USNS SAN JOSE, USNS CONCORD, USNS KISKA and USS ESSEX. While at HC-5/HSC-25, CDR Pike flew in support of the tsunami relief efforts in Bande Ache, Indonesia, graduated from the Rotary Wing Weapons School, and supported multiple rescue efforts in and around the islands of the Northern Marianas.

In 2006, CDR Pike reported to the HSC Weapons School Pacific where he was a Weapons and Tactics Instructor (WTI). During this tour, he completed a Masters in Business Administration through the Naval Post Graduate School and an Individual Augmentation at the Joint Personnel Recovery Center, Al Udied, Qatar in support of Operations OIF and OEF.

In 2008, CDR Pike returned to HSC-25 as the squadron's WTI. During this tour, he deployed again on USS ESSEX and supported the training and qualification of over 100 aircrew of the 2515th Air Ambulance Squadron. After graduating from the Naval War College in 2011, CDR Pike was assigned to HSC-85 where he deployed both nationally and internationally in direct support of Joint SOF units to include SEALs, MARSOF, Army ODA, Australian SOF forces and others.

From 2014 to 2016, CDR Pike served as a Joint Planner (J-5) at Joint Forces Command Brunssum (JFCBS) in the Netherlands where he was directly responsible for the development of Operation RESOLUTE SUPPORT OPLAN and six other NATO national crisis response plans.

CDR Pike has accumulated over 2800 flight hours in the H-60. His awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, an Air Medal (Individual Action), five Navy Commendation Medals, the Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal, the 2004 NHA SAR Aircrew of the Year, the 2009 CNAF Pilot of the Year and various service awards and ribbons.
